Senator Dennis Baxley (Republican) has been the Florida State Representative for the Ocala area for many years and is a publicly elected official who is paid to represent Florida Citizens.

Why the Florida Park Service Closed Wild Waters Water Park

No Description

A petition was created in response to Florida Park Bureaucrats plans to eliminate Wild Waters because they want a more “Park like setting” in it’s place as show in the above video

The petition has been signed by over 3,400 people from all over the state of Florida, the United States and by members of our troops in the Mid East.

You can view the petition here: http://www.change.org/petitions/save-wild-waters-petition

Since Wild Waters is owned by the State of Florida, Wild Waters is owned by Florida citizens.  Florida citizens also pays every Florida State Official’s salary so they should be doing what the citizens of this state want. Full details of how citizens rights and democracy was violated are at https://wildwatersocala.com/why-wild-waters-closed/

In 2015, letters were sent and calls made to State Representative Baxley asking that he take action to preserve Wild Waters for Families and Children in Marion County and Ocala.

Dennis Baxley failed to respond to ANY of the calls or letters from citizens.

New 2019 Petition to Rebuild Wild Waters Gets 12,000 Signatures

In 2019, a new Petition to Rebuild Wild Waters received over 12,000 signatures. Not a word from ANY State or Local Politician about the petition.

Wild Waters served a large area which includes Marion, Alachua, Levy, Putnam, Citrus, Lake and Sumter Counties. It is also a tourist attraction and provides traditional summer jobs for young people. Comments have been received from people all over the United Sates stating they come to Ocala every year to visit Wild Waters.

Wild Waters was one of the few places young people had to go in our area during the summer.

Our Water Park being closed has been devastating to thousands of families, children and teens in Central Florida who enjoy going there every year during the summer. It’s cause a hardship on families causing them to have to drive up to two hours to the next closest water parks in Orlando, Tampa or Daytona. Many are not be able to take their children to a water park at all during the summer due to the long drive.

Eliminating Wild Waters is huge step backwards for the Ocala area and also caused the loss of over 60 summer jobs, many which are filled by young people.

The public overwhelming supports Wild Waters but Florida State officials have ignored the wishes of the very citizens who pay their salaries.

Dennis Baxley failed to do his job by ignoring calls or letters from his constituents.  He failed to stand up for Families and Children in our community to have Wild Waters preserved.

When politicians become complacent, fail to respond and help their constituents, it’s time for them to either retire or be voted out of office.

Florida Republican: We Needed To ‘Keep College Students From Voting’

Under the new rules, voters registered in a different county had to cast a time-consuming provisional ballot. Previously, they could have just cast a regular ballot after workers checked a statewide database. Election workers say they literally never heard of a single case of someone trying to vote in two different counties.

Florida GOP Rep. Dennis Baxley Compares Gay Parents to Drunks and Drug Abusers

It was a startling statement that had the same resonance as ex-Congressman Todd Akins’ statement about “legitimate rape” 14 months ago and Texas Congressman Michael Burgess’ opposition to abortion because, he claims, fetuses masturbate at 15 weeks. (Akins and Burgess are conservative Republicans.)

GOP Lawmaker: Put More Guns In Schools

Florida state lawmaker Dennis Baxley (R-Ocala) said Monday that everything must be “on the table” legislatively in response to the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. According to Baxley, that includes allowing school personnel to arm themselves while on school grounds. “We need to be more realistic at looking at this policy.

LOOK: 8 Florida Republicans Who Love ‘Stand Your Ground’

George Zimmerman’s legal team didn’t ultimately use a defense based on Florida’s controversial Stand Your Ground law, but Zimmerman’s killing of unarmed teen Trayvon Martin brought the controversial statute to the forefront of national news.

Per the above article; “You’ve heard of death by a thousand cuts. Florida Republicans have inflicted the thousandth cut on democracy in this state. Democracy in Florida is just about dead. The state effectively has a one-party (Republican) regime”.

“Florida Republicans acquired their overlord status in large part through voter suppression. After the November 2020 election in which many more Democrats than Republicans voted by mail, Republicans had to suppress that too. Republican Sen. Dennis Baxley introduced SB 90, which retroactively voids as many as 6 million already-filed 2022 mail-voting sign-ups and bans mail-ballot drop boxes, which were used without incident by 1.5 million Florida voters last year. It’s voter suppression on steroids”.
